CalcWorks is shareware. You are allowed to try out the program for 15 days, after which time a reminder dialog will appear every 3 days to remind you to register. The following limitations are present until you register...
窶｢ Registration reminders at launch after the first 15 days, and thereafter every 3 days.
窶｢ Registration notice in the header of all printed tape documents. This notice is replaced by the document's name, date and time when registered.
窶｢ Registration notice in the status line of the background clock display, if you have the status line enabled in Preferences. This is replaced by a full date display (ie. 窶廴onday, April 1, 1996窶) when registered.
窶｢ Saved preferences are restricted. Display value, memories, startup tape, button layout, key assignments, and color setup cannot be saved with preferences, and these options are disabled in the Preferences dialog.
窶｢ Constants and conversions data cannot be saved. The default constants and conversions can be used fully, and the entries can be freely edited, but your changes will not be saved.
After the 15 day trial period, if you decide to continue using CalcWorks, you are required to register by paying the $20 registration fee. Payment can be made in US funds only by cash, check, money order, MasterCard or Visa, or by CompuServe's shareware registration service. To register, you can use one of the following methods...
窶｢ Select About CalcWorks... from the Apple menu, and click the Register... button. Fill out the registration dialog that appears, select your payment method, and print out your registration form. (If you do not have a printer, simply print the same information on a piece of paper.) Send the form, along with payment if not paying by credit card, to the address on the form. You can also fax or email your order if you are using a credit card. If you have a fax modem and fax software, you can fax directly from the registration dialog. Just select your fax driver from the Chooser before selecting About CalcWorks... from the menu, follow the steps above as if printing the form, and your fax software's fax dialog should appear in place of the Print dialog. See your fax software's documentation if you have problems.
窶｢ If you have an account on CompuServe, you can register on-line using their shareware registration service (the cost is slightly higher due to Compuserve's processing fee). To do so, log on to CompuServe, GO SWREG, and select ID#3535. They will deduct the $23.50 charge from your on-line account, and notify me immediately that you have registered. I will send your serial number by email (usually within 24 hours), and follow with your complete registration package by mail.
Within 21 days of receipt of your order (usually much quicker), you will receive by mail your registration package, which will include a registration letter, disk, and, if you purchased a multi-user license, a site license. Your registration letter will contain a unique serial number that will unlock CalcWorks and remove the limitations mentioned above. The high-density disk will include the latest version of CalcWorks, the latest unregistered version of PopupCD (my other shareware product), and a collection of high quality public domain System 7 - format sounds which you can use as system beeps, with programs such as SoundMaster, or just for fun. The sounds collection is provided as a thank you for registering.
SITE LICENSES
For organizations with five or more users, site licenses are available at $10 per user. Simply enter the number of users in the registration dialog, and enclose payment (if not using a credit card) in the amount specified. You will receive a signed site license certificate for the requested number of users with your registration package. I also offer educational site license discounts and unlimited-user site licenses.
